Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps to rehearse at MHS on July 17

The Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps & Color Guard will hold a rehearsal throughout the day on Sunday, July 17 at Marshalltown High School. The group is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

The Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps & Color Guard will make a rehearsal stop at Marshalltown High School on Sunday, July 17.

Times of the rehearsal will be from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m with breaks during that time. The rehearsal is free and open to the public to view and will be located at Leonard Cole Field at MHS.

The Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps & Color Guard is an incorporated, nonprofit organization, operated for the betterment of youth and based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The group performs at parades, festivals, and other events throughout the Midwest and the nation.

MHS Associate Band Director Brett Umthun is excited to host the group, which includes 100 students and 20 staff members.

“I think it will be neat to have them here,” Umthun said. “They’ve been established for a long time.”

The group will perform a show at Waukee High School the night of July 17 at 7 p.m. as part of the Celebration of Brass.
