Representatives from Alliant Energy will talk about skilled trades apprenticeship opportunities during an open house event at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14 at the Marshalltown Public Library.

An event with a goal to raise awareness of skilled trades apprenticeship opportunities will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.. on Tuesday, November 14 in meeting room A of the Marshalltown Public Library, 105 W. Boone St.

The open house is for local high school students and families and is designed to connect youth to local apprenticeship opportunities.

The event is hosted by Marshalltown Learning Academy, Iowa Workforce Development and the Iowa Valley Education and Training Center as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

Featured presenting companies include Alliant Energy, Web Electric, Local 106 Carpenter’s Union and Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors, among other skilled trades opportunities.
