Marshalltown High School senior Luke Pedersen received his Academic All-State certificate recently from MHS boys cross country coach Chad Pietig.

Marshalltown High School senior Luke Pedersen has received Academic All-State honors from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches. Pedersen concluded his senior year in cross country this fall.

To attain Academic All-State status, students must attain a minimum of a 3.8 grade point average, score a 28 or better on the ACT and finish in the top 30 runners at the state-qualifying district meet.

Luke was presented his All-State certificate recently by MHS boys cross country coach Chad Pietig.

“Luke is very deserving of this Academic All-State award for cross country,” Pietig said. “He represents everything we want in our student athletes. He works just as hard at his academics as he does in his athletics and other activities, which is why he is successful in everything he does. We are very proud of his accomplishments.”
