MHS welcomes newest group into National Honor Society

Ramirez

Marshalltown High School student Mariana Ramirez is congratulated by MHS Principal Jacque Wyant as she was one of 47 students inducted into the National Honor Society on April 24.

Marshalltown High School inducted 47 students into the National Honor Society during a ceremony held on April 24 at the MHS/Community Auditorium.

Students are selected for the National Honor Society by displaying character, leadership and service qualities and also achieving at least a 3.5 grade point average. MHS Principal Jacque Wyant said that NHS students display the “true definition of a complete student.”

Keynote speaker at the event was Dr. Lisa Naig, a 1987 MHS graduate. She works as an early childhood special education specialist with Heartland AEA. She told the students to always be lifelong learners, always get involved in something that interests them and to always be true to themselves.
