Author Ryan Sloth visits Franklin Elementary

Author, actor and former Cyclone football star Ryan Sloth visited Franklin Elementary Thursday, sharing his books and stories from his career.

A native of Belmond, Iowa, Sloth played cornerback for Iowa State University, helping lead them to their first bowl victory in 2000. Since then he’s played arena football and served as assistant coach for the Iowa Barnstormers. He’s also appeared in numerous movies, including We Are Marshall, Leatherheads and Touchback. He also has roles in the next Spiderman and Dark Night film series.

Sloth visited with students during the day, showing off his some of his football memorabilia and reading his two children’s books, “Sammy Sloth: Sport Superstar” and “Sammy Sloth’s Big Golf Tourney”. That evening he was present for Franklin Family Night in the school library.
