Garza named next Woodbury Elementary principal

Garza, AnelAnel Garza de Sandoval will be the next principal at Woodbury Elementary beginning July 1, 2013.

Before becoming associate principal at Perry Elementary in Perry, Iowa, in 2012, Garza was a classroom teacher at Woodbury Elementary for 10 years, teaching second grade (2002-2011) and kindergarten (2011-2012).

“I’m very happy that I’m coming back to Marshalltown, especially to Woodbury,” she said. “It’s my first home, my first love.”

Garza received her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education with endorsement in English Language Learning from the University of Northern Iowa, where she also earned her Master of Arts degree in educational leadership.

    Good for you coming back to Woodbury!! I grew up at 608 E. State street acrosse from you beloved school. Good luck I am sure you will be happy there!!
