Ten MHS student artists earn honors from CIML

Ten Marshalltown High School students were honored at the CIML Conference Art Awards Monday, April 2, at Ames High School.

While in Ames students were treated to visits to the ISU Brunnier Gallery and The Octagon. The awards ceremony was held in the Ames High School Auditorium.

Those Marshalltown students who received awards were Matthew Milot (ink drawing), Jose Madrigal (printmaking), Alissa Waldron (ceramics), Maggie Halverson (ceramic sculpture), Jackie Guevara (ceramics), Jessica Walton (crafts—watercolor book), Alex Vajgrt (graphic design),Sydney Davis(9th grade 2-D), Brenda Castellanos (ceramics) and Lino Trevino (Best of Show 3-D).

MHS art teachers are Kirk Niehouse, Josh Russell, and Julie Bousum.
