Key Club prepares 668 donated books for preschool students

Members of the Marshalltown High School Key Club prepared 668 books Monday for delivery to Marshalltown preschool students, taking part in a decade-long tradition of the Matins Kiwanis Club.

For more than 10 years the Matins Kiwanis has donated books to area preschool students. The Key Club, which is sponsored by the Matins Kiwanis, sorted the books and placed labels inside each book cover.

Key Club, an organization dedicated to serving children and their communities through volunteer opportunities, has also participated in fundraising for the House of Compassion and volunteered during the Kiwanis pancake breakfast and Oktemberfest spaghetti dinner.

Club sponsors at MHS are Marsha Johnson and Renee Mathews. Martha Schwandt and Sue Beurskens from the Matins Kiwanis Club assisted the Key Club with the project.
