Having trouble with your eReader? Want to sign up for a Facebook page but don’t know where to start? Need help downloading Skype or some other application to your computer or smart phone? The library, in partnership with the IT Adventures Club at Marshalltown High School, can help!
Starting Oct. 23, 2013, and continuing every Wednesday throughout the fall, students in the club will be available in the library’s café from 4:00-6:00 p.m. to help community members install or uninstall software, learn to use their eReader, tablet, or smart phone, or help with other computer or mobile technology.
Community members must bring their own mobile devices (i.e. laptop, tablet, eReader) and any user names and passwords they might need (i.e. email, Apple, Amazon, etc.) to the library to receive help. As a disclaimer, the library is offering this as a volunteer service and we can only provide basic assistance with your devices.
People who are interested can call the library’s Information Desk at 754-5738 ext. 4 or come in to the library to set up an appointment. There will also be students available to help on a walk-in basis, but those with appointments will be helped first. Do you have another issue that you’d like help with?
