MHS 4th at Iowa Science Olympiad

Marshalltown High School placed fourth out of 14 teams at the Iowa Science Olympiad held Saturday, March 29, at Coe College in Cedar Rapids.

MHS competed in 22 events, with students earning top three medals in 10 events:

  • Boomilever – 3rd place (Whitney Canaday and Juan Andrade)
  • Experimental Design – 3rd place (Adam Willman, Analisa Iole, Therese Kuhlman)
  • Anatomy – 2nd place (Ryan McDaniel, Analisa Iole)
  • Water Quality – 2nd place (Sean Finn, Adam Willman)
  • Technical Problem Solving – 1st place (Adam Willman, Therese Kuhlman)
  • Geologic Mapping – 3rd place (Sean Finn, Mary Drummer)
  • Astronomy – 2nd place (Collin Krukow, Abby Snyder)
  • Circuit Lab – 3rd place (Chandler Schmidt, James Drummer)
  • Bungee Drop – 2nd place (Therese Kuhlman, Analisa Iole)
  • Dynamic Planet – 2nd place (Abby Snyder, Sean Finn)
